last week, the lovely amber b dianda and i had a chance to stop by the SOCO Collection + OC Mart Mix in costa mesa, california.  a contemporary epicenter of design emporiums, including the largest Design Within Reach, ever, the plaza straddles the balance of local start-ups (birdie juicery), inspiring home and garden accessories (inside out 365), DIY terrarium classes (rolling greens nursery), gourmet culinary essentials (surfas), and glam contemporary showrooms (pal + smith), (fixtures living).  not sure when to visit?  consider swinging by on saturday mornings for the organic farmers market and food truck festival- yum.

stumbled upon HAY blankets over at the new SOCO DWR, (more pics from our field trip coming soon) and just about lost my mind.  gorge colors with just the right amount of pop, i immediately came home to research more about this danish collection- and found these fab HAY rugs with gradient stripes  love.

there are hotels, and then, there are HOTELS.  the st. cecilia in austin, texas definitely falls into the latter category.  liz lambert, the home grown boutique hotelier of hotel san jose and hotel havana fame, has put her signature stamp on this quintessentially-austin landmark in the leafy south congress neighborhood.  with its edgy plantation charm, the property is truly a rock n roll respite.
