Claudio Kirac is a ‘modern day renaissance man’ of sorts.
With a career spanning more than 15 years as a professional artist, photographer, designer and consultant working primarily within the fashion and music industries.

His head in the clouds and two feet planted firmly on the ground, Claudio or (CK as he is affectionately known as) constantly investigates the crossover between art and popular culture whilst questioning the norm within a commercial field.
Always transcending the boundaries between analogue and digital design, Claudio has stayed true to his developed style which has it’s own signature and trademark, fostered over the years through countless projects inspiring and evolving over time.

CK has had reviews and artwork published in magazines such as Black+White, Artillery, Monster Children, Tokion, Stab, Dazed & Confused, YEN, Australian Creative and Movement. He has also self published two books of artwork and photography, ‘Para el Sexo Dialimento’ with ABCK (2006) and ‘INFINITEYE’ (2008) these have been stocked and exhibited throughout Australia and internationally including Vienna, Paris, Tokyo and New York.

Claudio lives and works on the Gold Coast, Australia and is represented through the Art-Work agency.

skateboard legend ed templeton and his wife, photographer deanna templeton, were kind enough to invite us into their unassuming suburban oasis for what might be the most lo-key, livable, art-filled home and studio, ever.  the templetons may be skateboardings’ reluctant reigning king and queen, but upon meeting the humble couple, you’d never guess.  skateboard legend-turned contemporary art and photography icon, ed, grew up in huntington beach– where he still resides today.  together since their teens, ed and deanna share a collective love for the arts, photography and skateboarding- and their home reflects the same lo-key sensibility.  every piece on the templeton’s walls tells a meaningful story, and every binder in their storage office (my favorite of which, was entitled “nudes”) tells an equally epic adventure.  as we head to the garage, stacks of toy machine decks (ed’s skateboard company) share space with his signature emerica shoes (his footwear sponsor); while dozens of canvases in various stages of completion, ready for his next solo exhibition.  also situated in the garage is the templeton’s darkroom, housing the critical pieces for developing their uniquely signature photography.  as we leave the templeton’s and head for the door, ed heads to the coat closet.  he quickly emerges and sheepishly hands us a copy of his incredible coffee table book, “ed templeton: the cemetery of reason” of which we’re obviously thrilled.  deanna gazes at him with pride, and gives us a warm hug.  it’s clear she’s his biggest fan, and he of her as well.

with it’s expansive floor to ceiling windows, 70s brass light fixtures, organic vegetable garden and backyard teepees and hard to imagine this quintessential california family, living anywhere else.

ryan kingman, mary myers and their adorable respective mini me’s, koa and novella, occupy a sunny split level home in the lo-key bohemian enclave of capistrano beach, ca.

just minutes from world class surf breaks and dozens of yummy local taco shops, this creative family of four- and their energetic chihuahuas occupy a space that’s uniquely their own.  with skateboard industry veteran ryan (kingman) hemling the marketing direction at buzz-worthy action sports sock start-up STANCE, and mary the designer behind vintage bohemian-luxe apparel brand NOVELLA ROYALE, it’s no wonder the space is brimming with all things you’d expect from these respective creative forces.

when gayle and jon jarrett open the doors to their expansive eichler ranch home in orange, ca…jaws have a tendency to drop…  flooded with light, the signature floor-to-ceiling windows have a tendency to blur the indoors and out.

masterfully decorated with perfect attention to period furnishings, collectibles, heath ceramic tiles and art, their jarret home is truly a reflection of what this modern family loves.  jon jarret, a mid-century metal smith, crafts period door-hardware (escutcheon’s, for those in the know, available HERE), while apparel industry design veteran wife, gayle jarrett, designs accessories in los angeles.  gayle’s love of vintage is particularly evident in her popular, well-edited vintage shop, foundation vintique.  creativity runs deep in this beautiful family, as pre-teen daughter ivy jarrett is a successful model, fronting major catalog campaigns for the likes of guess? and garnet hill.
